Spring Cookies 2010 Workshop

Spring is in the air! Ok, well… it may not feel like spring outside but visually it’s all around us. Trees are bursting into fresh green bud, daffodils are showing their sunny faces and, if you live in country, the bleeting of lambs can be heard! I am ready for spring, it’s been a long grey old winter and some colour and light is extremely welcome. Lindy loves colour, bright bold colours and this spring cookie workshop is no ‘colour’ exception! Pinks, purples, greens, yellows and super whites evoke warmth and brightness. Our cookie workshops are hugely popular,  they suit the beginner sugarcrafter and the experienced one who wants to experiment. They give you the opportunity to try different styles and decorating techniques.  To make lots of beautiful cookies. Let Lindy show you how…

A butterfly cookie in the making!

On this course we start with the basics looking at sugarpaste and how to handle it. Rolling, cutting and covering. Lindy provide all the cookies for our cookie courses.  This ensures that our cutters fit the cookie so that we can move through each stage of decoration at a good pace. Lindy talks you through baking cookies at home and how to get the best out of her recipes. She  guides you every step of the way and she is keen for you to do as much as you can on the day. Today we created bunnies, lambs, butterflies, chicks and flowers. A lovely spring collection. The students experimented with using cutters, shaping with dresden tools, piping work and creating various shapes with a sugar shaper.

Lovely Spring Cookies!

As you can see they did a great job!  And today we were joined by Sally who is usually our expert assistant and baker of the now famous Lemon Drizzle Cake!! I think you’ll agree that her spring flower below is quite simply beautiful!
