Christmas cookie decorating Class 2010

Cookie decorating classes are probably one of my favourite classes to teach. Everyone, what ever their previous sugarcraft experience,  learns something new and has the opportunity to experiment with all the different techniques that I demonstrate. This enables my students to find the techniques they prefer and the ones they need to practice a little bit more.

Students Christmas cookies - very festive!

Todays students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and came from as far away as Milan in Italy. We always love to welcome our international students as we find it’s a wonderful way to learn more about baking  in other coutries. Today we also heard about Christmas customs in Italy – fascinating!

Lindy's cookies - created in class with her students, what fun!!!

I also love cookie classes as they give me a chance to experiment with colours, techniques, new cookies shapes etc,  something I always love to do – I never know what I will discover…..today I used my peony stencil on pale blue sugarpaste with purple royal icing, I’m really pleased with the results – I don’t think I’ve ever combined these colours before but I think they really work!!! They inspire you…

Stencils are a quick and effective way of decorating cookies

The cookies I was most pleased with today however were the two below. A snowman, very appropriate cookie with all the snow we have in the UK at the moment, and a Christmas stocking again decorated with a snowman.

Lindy's favourite cookies!

If you feel inspired to join us on our next cookie course it’s wedding cookies on Friday 11th February. We’d love to welcome you…….
