Paste Patterning technique workshop June 2011

I knew Lindy was never going to be artistically content with plain coloured sugarpaste! Famous for her eye catching colour combinations Lindy has  blended her love of colour with her love of pattern and design,  taking sugarcraft to a new level of gorgeousness. For the first time ever we bring you a workshop uniquely focused on these fabulous paste and pattern techniques. Stripes, swirls, checks, marbling and the beautiful Millefiori, my personal favourite! The uber fabulous animal prints were also demonstrated by Lindy  resulting in a visual feast of styles and colours…pink leopard print in sugar – love it!

Delightful patterned paste made by our paste patterning workshop students.

Lindy loves repeat patterns and today she showed our students how simply repeating a pattern can be very effective in sugar. There was lots of time to experiment with colours, patterns and styles in this workshop and as you can see from our photographs our students  ‘went to town!’

More stunning patterned paste. Our students are on a roll!

I particularly enjoyed the Millefiori demonstration today. Millefiori, Italian translation a thousand flowers, I adore Millefiori design and to observe it being translated into sugarpaste was a joy to see.

A thousand flowers...Millefiori makes an appearance alongside stripes, checks & swirls...created by our students.

Our students covered cakes, cupcakes and cookies proving how versatile paste patterning is and how it works equally well on small and large surfaces! You can add another style dimension to your sugarcraft with these techniques. Paste patterning turns the lovely into the uber fabulous!

“Amazing & awesome, time flew though, 4pm came way too soon, great lunch too. Thank you” -Trixy Gallagher
