Such is the interest in Lindy’s approach to her work that she has created a collection of technique workshops. We trialled them last season and by popular demand have kept them on our Autumn workshop programme. I have a feeling they are here to stay!
The focus today was on patterning paste. Lindy’s love of colour, her eye catching colour combinations and her pattern designs are getting a lot of attention in the cake world. Her work is interesting, different and fun. Marbling, checks, stripes, dots, animal prints, simple repeat patterns and the delightful millefiore… as featured in Lindy’s new book ‘The Contemporary Cake Decorating Bible’ They are so utterly fabulous it’s hard to believe you are looking at sugar and not fabric!
Today our students arrived with a pre-covered mini cake, for time saving, and cookies & cupcakes uncovered. Lindy created this technique led class to focus specifically on exploring pattern and translating it into sugarcraft. There is lots of time in this class to experiment with many patterns and colours. Lindy very much encourages you to go for it and, if you can, bring your own design flair to the class. These intricate designs are achievable because of Lindy’s step-by-step approach to teaching and the support you will get from Lindy’s workshop team. They are a lot easier than you think…just quietly!
As you can see from the photos above and below our students have tried a variety of techniques and produced a fab collection of work.
No longer do you have to be limited by the shop bought colour of paste and food dyes. Lindy is showing you that, when working with sugarpaste, the design possibilities are truly endless. Lindy is making sugarpaste do things you didn’t think possible!!
Keep and eye out for our techniques based workshops. Warning: they sell out fast!! Click here to find out more.
