Have you been following this series, in the Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine? I think it’s fascinating; over 4 issues the magazine is looking back over its first 100 issues and choosing one cake from each issue. Readers are then asked to vote for their favourite cake from the 25 featured. The current magazine – issue 104, Spring 2009 – is featuring issues 51-75 and I am privileged, along with other very talented sugarcrafters, to have two of my cakes featured:
Issue 59 – Karting
Taken from my first book – hobby cakes this was an exciting and challenging project for avid modellers.
If you are interested, instructions for a small model, similar to this kart, are now available as a download on our online shop .
Issue 75 – Cockerel
Winning best in class at the Salon Culinaire competition 2001 this cake was created using a 6in ball tin and pastillage supporting pieces. I’m pleased to say, he’s still living with me, although he’s feathers have aged slightly – it happens to us all!
If you’d like to vote for these or any other of the fabulous cakes featured remember to enter before the 28th April 2009 – there are prizes to be won!
See Cakes and Sugarcraft for details.

Hi Lindy,
will watch this space with interest..
before finding your books and website, I had convinced myself that wedding cakes and celebration cakes were out of my comfort zone. This year, so far, I have made your snowflake cake for my middle sons wedding at Christmas, and now engaged on wedding cake with flowers!! for eldest son at easter.
Many thanks for your inspiration..
Looking forward to the DVDs.
