Decorated cookies – what a great alternative to traditional Easter eggs, I’m sure the family and friends of Fridays students will be suitably impressed. Many students were completely new to sugarcraft so I think you’ll agree they did really well. We even had two ladies fly over from Majorca specially for the class!! – It never ceases to amaze me the distance that people travel to my classes, but apparently decorated cookies have yet to made it to the sunny Mediterranean!

Spring cookie decorating class - students cookies

The class was based around cookies from my ‘bake me I’m yours…COOKIE’ book. Amongst other things, I introduced the students to one of my favourite tools – the Sugar Shaper - don’t you just love the fluffy chicks!

Another very useful piece of equipment I’m always using is a dresden tool - excellent for marking, shaping and adding texture to the sugarpaste – This chick was textured by just using  a dresden tool in a number of different ways.

Royal  icing is a medium that many cake decorators shy away from, however if the consistency is correct you can always achieve the desired affect – I think you’ll agree the flowers and butterflies the students created were magical, without a pointed cone in sight – well done everbody!

    Hello Amaka
Thank you for your comment. Regards the price of the DVD’s, I’m afraid it’s the old adage ‘You get what you pay for’! I could have just used my own camcorder and some editing software and created some simple instructional low cost DVD’s however from all the website questionnaire feedback that we’ve received its very apparent that my ‘fans’ want a quality product, with lots of close up work and easy navigation etc…… This of course comes at a price….we have however tried to keep the cost to you the consumer as low as possible. I think you will enjoy the end result.
