Day passes to Sydney cake seminar

I’ve just calculated that its only 7 weeks until I start my trip down under to the 15th National Seminar of AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CAKE DECORATORS’ ASSOCIATION INC. at the Citigate Central Hotel, Thomas St, Sydney.  How exciting!

Beginners cake decorating workshop

Friday’s introduction to celebration cakes workshop was a great success -”I’ve had the best time ever”, “I’ve absolutely loved it”, “I’ve learnt so much” were just some of the comments from the students as they departed. For most students, covering and decorating a cake was a completely new experience, so they had a lot to learn.

Cake jewellery – students work

Friday’s cake jewellery class was all about learning new jewellery cake techniques. It was the first time I’d taught this particular class, based on new jewellery techniques demonstrated in my cake jewellery gems dvd. So both the students and I were learning but as you can see from the photos below, they all did really well.

I’ve had some great feedback regards the wonky cake dvd snippets I uploaded yesterday, so thank you…..but there’s more….here is the taster for the cake jewellery DVD.  The running time of the dvd itself is 135 minutes on disc one plus extras of 24 minutes on disc two, this clip is only just over 7 minutes long so it only contains a very small fraction of the overall material… Continue reading
