Cake jewellery – students work

Friday’s cake jewellery class was all about learning new jewellery cake techniques. It was the first time I’d taught this particular class, based on new jewellery techniques demonstrated in my cake jewellery gems dvd. So both the students and I were learning but as you can see from the photos below, they all did really well.

During the day we concentrated on creating abstract flowers and cake jewellery bands, with a few other bits and pieces thrown in (sparkles, diamonte’s e.t.c) for good measure! Don’t the abstract flowers below look gorgeous.

Most students found the jewellery bands a little hard to get started, but once they’d got the hang of the threading and the bead placement, there was no stopping them……

As you can see below, at the end of the day everyone went home with a beautiful sparkling decorated cake for their family and friends to enjoy.

If you are interested in joining us in the autumn on a similar course please keep an eye on our website or email Jane, our workshop co-ordinator, and ask to be added to our mailing list.

Hope you feel inspired

Looking at some of these makes me think of peacocks. I am not surprised because these works are really beautiful. On the first pic i particularly like the one at the bottom left.

I really enjoyed the cake jewellery course. It was really relaxed and as there was only 9 other people so not crowded and I got all the help I needed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to add something different to their cakes. Lindy was extremely helpful and the DVD is very good too!!
