The Christmas Bauble Workshop is fast becoming our most popular Christmas time class.  This course is magical! A round cake in the shape of a Christmas Bauble…’No way’ you say! Well… I’ve seen it being done and these beautiful baubles are  impressive!  The baking is crucial in the process of creating this cake. The cake is made in a specially designed ball tin, thus creating the perfect sphere to cover.  Lindy then guides you through the covering of the board, the cake and the placing of the cake on on the board. A delicate operation but Lindy has a great tips to share. Once again I am amazed at how sugarpaste moulds to such a shape but truly it does, and the ladies did a superb job of smoothing and creating a professional finish at this stage.
Baubles taking shape!

Baubles taking shape!

From here on the creative stage really takes off. Each bauble starts to develop it’s own style and indivuality. The colours were stunning  and the christmas shapes like stars, holly, snowflakes… were created using stencils and cutters. And for added Sparkle use Lustre dust

Ready for Christmas!

Ready for Christmas!

There’s a lot to learn in one day on this course but under Lindy’s expert guidance, and Sally’s expert assistance, impressive results are achieved. We were taken aback with the quality of these Baubles. There was a great atmosphere in this class… perhaps it was everyone getting in to the spirit of Christmas, perhaps it was the realisation of what you were going to create today! Well done ladies… the results speak for themselves!

I had a wonderful day, thank you so much. It was a very full day and we all learnt a lot of new skills to use on future projects. I hope to attend another course in the new year.

Lindy, Thanks for such a great day.

All of us were nervous, I don’t think anyone had covered a ball cake before, and under your expert guidance we all had fun and completely forgot the nerves.

Thanks also to Sally, Jane and Rachel – you have a really good team supporting you too.

See you again soon for course number 4!

I am looking for a bauble wedding cake and wondered if you would consider this? I have one that i liked but they are too far from where i am based in Bromley, Kent. Could you confirm?

The one i saw is a tower of baubles like the cup cake towers.

This is for 17 December 2010.

I look foward to your reply.

    Many thanks

What a fantastic site you have here, sadly, I found you just too late to be able to come along to your Xmas bauble class last December. I’m planning to have some bauble style cakes for my Xmas wedding cake this December, however, I need to be practicing my sugar paste-ing well before December. Can you give me some tips for getting the best result on the sugar paste covering. I’m unsure how to go about it- I can’t get my head around how not to have a big frilly leftover blob of left-over paste or a nasty ’seam’ on the bauble. Any help or top tips will be much appreciated.
    thanks!
