Lindy’s vintage rose cupcakes feature on magazine cover

How exciting to discover my cupcakes on the cover of Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine! I find it is always thrilling to see my cakes in print  but this is especially true when they are transformed into the cover of a magazine. The cupcakes themselves are decorated with piped buttercream roses and originally first appeared in my latest book  ‘The contemporary cake decorating bible‘.

I created these cupcakes to show one of my students how to pipe buttercream roses successfully, I hope the instructions to be found  in my bible book and in the magazine also help you create beautiful roses.

Tip: If you find buttercream too sweet for your taste, why not try Swiss meringue buttercream as it is less sweet and has a beautiful glossy finish that doesn’t fade – you’ll find the recipe in my cupcake and bible books.

Dragon wins Iconic cake competition

What a lovely surprise to find out that my dragon cake has won the Cakes and Sugarcraft magazine’s iconic cakes competition – I’m so thrilled and delighted.

The magazine also  described me as “one of the UK’s best-loved cake decorators” which is very gratifying.

100 Iconic cakes update

Cakes and sugarcraft magazine have just published the remaining 25 cakes in their 100 iconic cakes series. If you are not familiar with the series, over 4 issues the magazine is looking back over its first 100 issues and choosing one cake from each issue.
