Stencil Technique Workshop with Lindy Smith June 2011

This will come as no surprise to our cakefriends…Lindy loves stencils!  So much so that she created the ‘Stencil Technique’ workshop to devote a whole day to this stunning effective and, dare I say it, simple technique.  Our students adorned cupcakes, cookies and a celebration cake today. With expert tuition by Lindy, and a step-by-step format, our students had time to experiment with different patterns and colours. Lindy is well… Continue reading

Sarah is a regular student of ours, she also runs a super cake company called ‘Cake & Eat it’ in Oxfordshire… Continue reading

Celebration Cakes Workshop – April 2010

This course is one of our most treasured workshops…a perennial favorite… the planting of a seed, so to speak!  It’s great to get back to basics, we never tire of it.  Students arrive with none or very little knowledge of sugarcraft. Some have dabbled in covering cakes, some have done quite a few. We find that most students are self taught and for many this will be their first professional… Continue reading

Beginners Celebration Cakes Class

Lindy got things underway by introducing the students to sugarpaste. She did a taste test of four different makes of sugarpastes to show how they can differ and to see which one the ladies liked the best. She then moved on to the covering of the board with sugarpaste to give a professional finish.

Lindy talked about… Continue reading
