Christmas 2010 mini cake class

Lots of beautiful, delicate, white, sparkling snowflakes plus a scattering of stars were created at todays very festive Christmas mini cake workshop, aren’t they lovely. The snowflakes were created from pastillage – look carefully each one is different, just like the real ones!! The snowflake outlines are created using snowflake cutters and the patterns cut out with smaller cutters and piping tubes.

Autumn Inspired Mini Cakes Workshop

Cutwork Mini Cakes Workshop

If there’s one style that, to me at least, epitomises Lindy’s style it’s ‘cutwork’. The iconic ‘cutwork’ wonky cake is,  in my opinion, her finest example. Autumn leaf mini cake class

We are now well and truly into winter, but during the last few sunny days of autumn we ran a very successful autumn leaf inspired mini cake class and I just wanted to share with you some of the work that the students created.

Baking Mini Fruit cakes

Contrary to popular opinion, many people do like fruit cake and it’s not just the elderly. Fruit cake is one of my favourite cakes, as it is my 14 year old sons! The secret, I think, is to have a really good recipe – try the one in my books, it often converts people that say they don’t like fruit cake!
