“A wonderful bunch of students” was the phrase that Jane, Sally and I felt best described our students on last Friday’s wonky cake course. I was feeling shattered after my full on week working on my DVDs, but these students were a joy to teach. So thank you everyone who attended. Many of you thought that it would have been good to make the workshop a two day course -… Continue reading

My wonky style cake classes have always been very popular; they are also ones of my favourite classes to teach. Students arrive not really knowing what to expect and go home having learnt not only how to carve and cover my signature style cakes but also armed with lots of tips and ideas to help them decorate their own cakes. Friday’s class was no exception; as usual we had a… Continue reading
I’m very pleased to announce that both my wonky cake and cake jewellery DVD’s are now available to pre-order. Thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to enter our cake DVD title competition. We loved reading through your all suggestions, some of them were very clever, some made us laugh, quite a few were inspired by Roald Dahl – ‘Wonky Cake Factory’ or other books – ‘Jewels in the Crown’, for the cake jewellery DVD title there was quite a bit of
Day two of filming and this time it was Wonky Cakes, my signature cake shape. I made my first wonky wedding cake for my brothers wedding back in 2003. Back then, the internet was a fairly new tool, so globally each country still had their own distinct recognisable style of cakes. At the time we were planning his cake, I had just obtained a couple of Australian wedding
One week today and it will be the first day of filming for my Cake decorating DVD’s, how exciting……I am currently writing long lists of all the equipment, materials, cakes, steps and props that I will need to take to the kitchen where I being filmed. Everything is now coming together for my two cake decorating DVD’s, which is really exciting. Yesterday I had a photoshoot for all the new Wonky cakes – they always look so different when set up professionally in a studio! I’m afraid I can’t show you any details of the cakes – it would spoil the surprise! But here’s a small
