About the BSG

Information about
british Sugarcraft Guild
The British Sugarcraft Guild are a group of people who share a common interest in Sugarcraft and Cake Decorating.

Their aims and objectives are to:
Promote and stimulate interest in Sugarcraft as an art form
Share knowledge
Develop talent
Improve standards

The BSG was formed in 1981. A Swan and it's reflection was chosen as the logo and "My craft is my Art" as a motto. Branches were formed all over the country, and now number around 280. Branch meetings are usually held once a month and a demonstrator is normally invited to share their skills and pass on their knowledge. Some Branches are able to encourage children to become involved in the art, they are known as "Cygnets" and they attend classes given by volunteers from the Branch.

Exhibitions, of varying sizes, are held by Branches all over the country.

For those people unable to attend Branch meetings Individual Membership is available and includes the growing numbers of members from all over the world.

Membership of the BSG is open to anyone with an interest in Sugarcraft whatever their skills, from complete novices to those who are professionals in their field.

If you are interested in joining the British Sugarcraft Guild, Your local branch will provide details of the cost of Individual Membership. International Membership is currently available for a yearly subscription of £21.00 sterling (April 1st to March 31st). Members receive a quarterly magazine and a newsletter.
