Covering and Decorating Techniques Class with Lindy Smith
These beautiful mini cakes are very chic indeed and make a lovely gift for someone special. Mini cakes are adorable, effective and can be very sophisticated!
The mini cake has become incredibly popular, particularly at weddings, as they make stunning displays. They are also perfect for when you want to give someone a small personalised gift.
This class is designed for all levels of sugarcrafter, however to get the most from this class we recommend that you are comfortable with covering a cake in sugarpaste although this is not essential.
What will the course cover:
You will begin with perfecting the covering of your mini cakes in readiness for decoration. This mini cake workshop is a superb course to experiment with decorating styles. The class will incorporate ideas for using sugarcraft cutters and moulds and give you an introduction to piping small pearls with royal icing.
What you can expect:
Lindy will demonstrate various decorative styles to create exquisite ornate mini cakes. You will work mainly with sugarcraft cutters and moulds. Lindy will also give you a brief introduction to piping by showing you how to pipe small royal icing pearls. You will have time to experiment with many patterns and colours. Expert tuition by Lindy is the main focus of the day, you will have Lindy and her team supporting you every step of the way. Our workshops are fun, informative and supportive. We pride ourselves on our ability to make our students feel at ease and encouraged, giving assistance where needed and space when not. You will end the day having created exquisite mini cakes using various decorating techniques, you will have gained valuable sugarcraft knowledge, techniques and tips for use in all aspects of your sugarcraft. We want you to have fun, learn a lot and become a cake friend of Lindy’s Cakes Ltd.
What you need to bring:
Once you have booked your place on the Marvellous Mini Cakes class we will send you a comprehensive information pack including a list of what you need to bring. Included in this list will be:
5cm (2in), 6cm (2 1/2in) or 7cm (3in) mini cakes or cake dummies, sugarpaste, modelling paste and equipment that will be listed in your information pack.
N.B. Many of the items you will need can be purchased in advance from us – we give you a 10% discount on class pre-orders.
