Covering and decorating techniques Class with Lindy Smith
These beautiful mini cakes are very chic indeed. A lovely Christmas gift for someone special or a treat for yourself, we do have a penchant for sweet little treats.
The mini cake is adorable and an increasingly popular type of cake amongst our students. They are also perfect for when you want to give someone a small personalised gift. Lindy loves decorating mini cakes!!
This class is designed for all levels of sugarcrafter, however to get the most from this class we recommend that you are comfortable with covering a cake in sugarpaste but this is not essential.
What the course will cover:
You will create stylish snowflakes from pastillage and learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to covering mini cakes. This mini cake workshop is a superb introductory course to using pastillage, covering mini cakes and trying out simple piping techniques using royal icing.
What you can expect:
Lindy will demonstrate various decorative styles to create exquisite ornate mini cakes. You will work mainly with pastillage, cutters and the piping tools. You will have time to experiment with patterns and styles. Expert tuition by Lindy is the main focus of the day, you will have Lindy and her team supporting you every step of the way. Our workshops are fun, informative and supportive. We pride ourselves on our ability to make our students feel at ease and encouraged, giving assistance where needed and space when not. You will end the day having created exquisite mini cakes, you will have gained valuable sugarcraft knowledge, techniques and tips for use in all aspects of your sugarcraft. We want you to have fun, learn a lot and become a cake friend of Lindy’s Cakes Ltd.
What you need to bring:
Once you have booked your place on the Mini Christmas Cakes class we will send you a comprehensive information pack including a list of what you need to bring. Included in this list will be:
5cm (2in) or 6cm (2 1/2in) mini cakes or cake dummies, sugarpaste, modelling paste, any snowflake or seasonal sugarcraft cutters you may have, plus tools and equipment that will be listed in your information pack.
N.B. Many of the items you will need can be purchased in advance from us – we give you a 10% discount on class pre-orders – alternatively you can buy many products on the day.
