Make a big impression with your celebration cakes by learning the art of stacking cakes.


Once you have mastered decorating a celebration cake, this is the next stage where you can learn how to “build” cakes correctly so that your celebration cakes can stand proud!


Suitable for the intermediate sugarcrafter.  You will be comfortable with using, and covering a cake in sugarpaste. Ideally you will have already attended Lindy’s Introduction to Celebration Cakes class.

What the course will cover:

You will learn the techniques of how to stack tiered cakes. The class will focus on how to dowel and stack your covered cakes. You will cover and create your own 2 tier cake then adorn it with simple sugarcraft decorations and a stunning jewelled fountain. Lindy will give you lots of ideas to use on the day or to ‘take-away’ and continue at home.

What you can expect:

This action packed fast moving class is challenging but, as with every Lindy Smith workshop, you will have Lindy and her team supporting you every step of the way. Our workshops are fun, informative and supportive. You will be taught by Lindy herself who is recognised as one of the most exciting contemporary experts in sugarcraft.  You will end the day having created your very own 2-tiered cake and will have gained valuable sugarcraft knowledge, techniques and tips for use in all aspects of your sugarcraft and an insight into cake jewellery. We want you to have fun, learn a lot and become a cake friend of Lindy’s Cakes Ltd.

What you need to bring:

Once you have booked your place in the 2-Tier Celebration Cake class we will send you a comprehensive information pack including a list of what you need to bring. Included in this list will be:

Two round cakes, suggested recipes will be sent, sugarpaste, buttercream, royal icing, a covered board, wires and beads, plus tools and equipment that will be listed in your information pack.

N.B. Many of the items you will need can be purchased in advance from us – we give you a 10% discount on class pre-orders – alternatively you can buy many products on the day.
